Any airline is comfortable if you are traveling in Business Class! If you are traveling in coach, none are what I would call comfortable. EVA has Evergreen Delux, a premium coach which has near-Business Class seats, but coach service, for only a few hundred dollars more than coach. By all accounts, it's a real deal. United has Economy Plus, but it is typically only available to their very frequent fliers. You may want to consider frequent flier miles in deciding this.

I flew Eva economy with my daughter from SFO to BKK via Taipei. It was fine. No worse than any other economy flight. If you get cold easily, I'd recommend Eva for their blankets alone. Much nicer (warmer) than United.

basically all airlines are terrible in coach...you just have to suck it up....
some may have slightly more room but that can vary from plane to plane and airline to airline...airbuses tend to be slightly more comfortable imo....we like 747 at the tail in the two seat rows...extra room next to the window...on northwest that is rows 63-67....

I would agree with peg715...I just flew Korean Air from Chicago to Bangkok and was quite impressed with their coach product. Very good food (if you chose Korean), excellent service, and great on-board entertainment. Just make sure you choose a flight with one of the newly refurbished planes. We flew the 777 out of Chicago and it had 44 on-demand movie selections, 10 games (including ones where you play another passenger), over 120 CDs, and 70 short programs. Plus, wireless internet was availble with power at every seat!
I have flown EVA Deluxe, Japan, and American before Korean and Korean's new product is a great choice in my opinion. There seats are also very comfortable and made with a new material that makes them very thin, giving you more room both in width and seat pitch. Once EVA gets more of their new 777s flying out of the US, Deluxe class will likely be the best again.
