Air Travel from the US

How would one go about trying to get airfare ideas on-line when the trip would involve 2 different cities and maybe 2 different carriers. I would be traveling to Beijing China and returning from Bangkok Thailand. I have been trying, but seems to always be some error with one city or the other. Can anyone suggest a websit or sites for asian air travel. TIA

go to a section called advanced flights, or multi cities....

put in each segment....

it might be a good thing to choose any airline that flies to both places: thai air----china air...united...cathy pacific...korean air...japan air....malaysian air....

Take a look at www.itasoftware.com It will list all the flights for you. I don't believe you can book from the site, I think it's just a search engine. But it was very helpful to me in figuring out a complicated routing.

You can also price out a round trip from the U.S. to Beijing and a round trip from Beijing to Bangkok and return. This would involve going from BKK back to China for the return.

Sometimes when you price out separate one way flights from one city to another the price is almost as much as a round trip.

I like the idea of trying to use the same airline, preferably one that you have some sort of frequent flier affiliation or even elite status (silver or gold card) so you can accrue lots of bonus miles and other perks. Some airlines are part of an alliance so you can have one card and use another airline and the miles still count. You can get lots of miles on US to Asia flights!

Cathay Pacific has had several specials on multi city travel. Also, check the price for flights a couple days before you preferred departure day, sometime just changing you departure day you can save hundreds of dollars! Holidays, weekends and Fridays may be a little higher priced than other days.

Good luck

Try Amadeus as they are one of the leading airline reservation company. Also, as Borhkkmk)has mentioned, use the "multi destination" page for your search.

Link for Amadeus: http://www.amadeus.net/home/index_toplevel.htm
