After Hours of reading: PLEASE HELP WITH ITINERARY

Hello,
After hours of reading--please help with my itinerary.
I will be traveling after my honeymoon (so will get some beach time in tropical area in Indian ocean). I have about 3 weeks left after that time to see this area. **My only flight confirmed back is my last day September 2nd from Ho Chi Minh City to US and my start has to be from India (Hyderabad)**
**With current schedule: I have about 7 days i'm not accounting for** (but have skipped the beach area in thailand for now but can add if other areas covered and not really interested in doing LAOS on this trip).
Schedule:
Leave Hydrabad August 9th 1am flight
August 9 (Saturday)- 12: chiang mai
August 12-(Tuesday)-15th : fly to BKK
August 15th (Friday)-18th: fly to siem reap; do angor wat

I'd want another day at Angkor. Get a copy of Dawn Rooney's book, Angkor: A Guide to Cambodia's Wondrous Temples to prepare.

I'd also want time in Hanoi - basically you spend no time there because you are spending hours and hours on the road to and from Halong Bay.

DaNang has little to recommend it unless you are just looking for beach. Most people prefer to stay in Hoi An.

I think your problem is too many destinations and too little time. Given the time you have, I'd cut DaNang and give yourself enough time to explore a but of Hanoi instead.

I would add more days to Hanoi. Your trip to Halong Bay, which I loved, will take about 3 hours each way. Are you staying overnight in HB or doing a day trip which I think would be a waste of time.

Danang was not much to see and I didn't care for it. I'd spend the time in Hoi An or perhaps Hue.

We skipped Halong Bay and enjoyed Hoi An a great deal, esp. if you want to chill. Several good restaurants, fun wandering in the early morning hours, and some good shopping, but the fun of the lit lanterns at night.

I would cut out Halong and Hoi and allocate the time to Hanoi and BKK. Otherwise you will end up spending a large proportion of your time in transit.
