Activities in Bangkok

I wrote some time ago about funding a stopover(4 nights) for my 22 year old daughter on her way back to Sydney and had some good advice regarding hotels (Siam@Siam, Grande Majestic- any others you might suggest??)

Now - are there any activities you could recommend, either group or individual? She is fit, enjoys outdoors, art and theatre.

there are all the sighseeing venues:

grand palace, jim thompson house, wat pho, wat arun, a couple of palaces, klong tour....trips out on the river...

there is a dutch group that organizes bike tours which she might find fun...

Good tip, Bob! If she knows how to ride a bike, she'll love the amazing bangkok cyclist!

She should stay at Siam@Siam. I had a look at it today, and just posted a little bit ago on my Carol is back in Bangkok thread that our 30somethings would LOVE the place. I realize that your daughter is not quite 30 yet, but... It's definitely for the younger crowd. Fantastic pool, lots of "party" venues, plus nightly activities going on. It seems each night of the week is a theme of some sort. It's very chic, very hip. I think she would really enjoy it. Majestic Grande is nice, but not in the same league as Siam@Siam in my opinion.

This forum and its participants are amazing - thanks for sharing your information.

Cycling sounds like a great idea - wonder if anyone knows of a good outfit or had experience of one?

Amazing Bangkok Cyclist.

http://www.realasia.net/BangkokBike.htm

Our family loved this. Our 20 yr old daughter did it with her boyfriend a year later, and loved it the second time too.
