I pulled up Hemingways' menu to see what I can eat on the menu as remember, I don't eat meat/poultry (by choice) and I have 3 food allergies.
So, I just woke up and it has been raining out as the streets are wet. It's totally gray out, no sun at all. I just hope it doesn't start pouring when I need to move back over to the condo.
Happy Travels!

Carol: My Thai friend called last night and has changed our dinner gathering from Hemingways to The Deck, across the river from Wat Arun. I'll report back on that one unless she changes it again. LOL! But, she said she changed it as the view, of Wat Arun, from The Deck is so nice.

Carol: So, I'm just getting in from dinner. The view of Wat Arun, at night, was amazing. As for the food, we ordered chu chee pla salmon (salmon in red curry), mixed vegetables in oyster sauce, and a pad thai. Well, the mixed vegetables were really good. The pad thai was way too salty and just lacked flavor, and the chu chee pla salmon had a weird curry and was topped with potato chips. Yes, you read it right, potato chips. I can't wait to get back to L.A. area to my nong's really great chu chee pla salmon. She's taught me how to make it and I've made it for folks who love it. But, she can cook incredibly well which is why her restaurants have done so well.
But, we got a great seat inside and with a view of Wat Arun across the river. Priceless. And we had a ball talking and laughing so that worked out really well. We plan to do dinner next week, but at Hemingways.

Glad you are going to try H'ways next week!
DH doesn't eat seafood or fish (tuna in a bowl of salad is his limit) so we probably won't be trying out The Deck anytime soon. The view of Wat Arun would be lovely though, especially lit up at night.

Carol: I've been away from Fodor's pretty much for the last several months, and just recently back on.
Just found this trip report of yours.
I'm very happy to hear that you've had another trip to Thailand, and that you are now probably having some more treatent for the illness which caused your surgery.
I am hoping and praying that all is going well for you.
I'll look on Facebook, and see if I can find you and your photos. Best of everything to you, and hoping to see you in Boston again one of these days.

Hello taconic! So nice to see your post! Yes, would love to meet up at another Boston GTG.
I'm doing ok during chemo (knock on wood) and have a ticket to Zurich the end of next week, plus a ticket to Bangkok for end of April. So happy to be able to keep traveling. We also have our first class Bangkok tickets for this Dec/Jan trip once again!! I managed to grab 3 first class saver award seats by watching availability in February.
I've posted quite a few pics on FB. Hope you can find them.
