7 days in India

My family will be in India for 14 days but the first 7 days will be occupied with a family wedding in Delhi. We will manage to go to Agra in that time, but we are unsure what to do the remaining 7 days. What are the best places in the South to go to?

Hai,
You can visit Kerala and do a house boat trip in the backwaters, also visit Munnar and Periyar in Kerala.

I enjoyed Kerala and the houseboat cruise, but you should also consider Mysore, with a day trip to the Hoysala temples at Belur and Halebid and/or the train up to the former hill station of Ooty. Some people would say Hampi, but it may be harder to get to.

Are you asking about the south because you've already explored the north? From Delhi most people go to Rajasthan, which is closer, although I found the south just as interesting.

If youre starting in Delhi it is best to stick to North India. The domestic airfares are shooting up and you can not get to the South without taking expensive flights. You will also lose 2 full days just traveling there and back. Why not save the south for when you fly directly there? You dont say which month you are going to be in India. If its the winters, that rules out the hills (Shimla, Himachal et al). Rajasthan will be a good choice at any time except April to June. In 7 days you should be able to visit Udaipur, Jodhpur & Jaipur and maybe a night in Shekhawati thrown in. The itinerary will depend on how you want to travel. Are you taking trains or will you hire a car and drive? The driving option will give you max flexibility but is more expensive than trains. You can also look at the Varanasi - Khajuraho - Orchha option.

Just take morning flight from Delhi to Cochin and follow as bellow:-
1st day - night in Komarkom
2nd day - Night in the house boat
cruz in back waters of Karela
3rd Day - Cochin - night in Cochin
4th Day - Back to Delhi or according you plans.
This is perfect tour we sell it as Golden Triangle of South India.
So you can keep continue.
Best wishes.
Raju India.

I have already been through Rajasthan. We were wondering about the Madras area... Any ideas?
