Thanks again to everyone for their helpful replies.
Mysore is off the cards.
I'm sticking with my original plans, removing Bundi for an extra night in each of Jaipur and Udaipur. I've also removed a night from Goa for logistical reasons.
I've booked a flight from Cochin to Goa (via Bangalore) on Kingfisher.
I've booked Kilians Hotel in Cochin - about AU$160 a night - a splurge for us.
Malabar House and the Old Harbour both had no room for my dates.
No other accommodation sorted yet - but I'm onto it this week.
I plan to book an overnight train from Goa to Mumbai - 1AC or 2AC each seem fine to me.
From Mumbai to Udaipur I'll fly, and then consider either a car and driver for Udaipur - Jaipur - Agra or overnight trains - still looking into cost vs time benefits.
JerryS - thanks for you travel agent advice. I did (briefly) consider it - but it's just not for us. We like our independence and the fun of planning.
Thanks again all - I.O.U. one trip report upon return.
