i think going to angkor would take too much time on top of your other plans...angkor needs at least 2 days plus 1/2 day to get there and back with all the travel time and waiting time at airports...
the marriott resort and spa in bkk is fabulous...sometimes you can get something under $100 there...i paid $105 incl breakfast last nov..its worth it...try to stay on the river...
grand palace is a must...shopping if you are interested....some of the wats: marble wat, wat po, wat arun on the river, patpong at night,,,,,its very hot all the time so you need to go slow...its not like euroe where you can tear around and see 1000 things in one day---plus it is slow moving around...get yourself a good map and use the skytrain...

Yes, with 15 days you can see Angkor, if you fly there and back and you sacrifice other parts of Thailand.
Last summer my husband and I spent a week in Cambodia and a week in Thailand. But, we'd spent a lot of time in Thailand before.
If it's your first time there, you may want to save Cambodia for another trip. On the other hand, I'd go now, because the temples are getting more heavily touristed every year.
You can see my trip for ideas at
http://www.wired2theworld.com

I can only answer 1 question...The Patong Beach Hotel in Phuket is right near all the action, right across the street from the beach, and is a great hotel with excellent restaurants, really nice pool area, etc...If you want to be closs to the action, and have a decent accomodation, i would recommend this one...I paid 100.00 Canadian per night and had a seaview room!!

i think a r.t. ticket to phuket should be about $100, maybe $125....i paid $577 for 2 r.t. tickets on bkk air to siam reap last nov...i bought the tickets from bangkok air's office in nyc so probably paid more....they have a web site so you could click on your dates....everything connected with angkor wat costs more than the rest of the region: air, food, hotels....you can get cheap b & b's however....shop around...it depends on the level of service and comfort needed...make sure you have a/c however....
