Worth paying extra for EVA's premium economy?
Sorry if this is an oft-repeated question, the last post on this I could find was from 2006.
I'm flying EVA LAX-TPE-BKK in March, and the cost difference is only about $200 to fly on Premium Economy. Is it worth it? It looks from their website like the latest AVOD in-flight entertainment system is on all seats regardless of class - so is there any big difference besides seat size? (I am a tiny person so extra legroom isn't that big of a deal.)
Are there other perks in Premium (aside from being able to whizz past coachers in the boarding line
thanks!

You really should spend a half hour or so and "play" with the Eva Air web site.
http://www.evaair.com/html/b2c/engli....htm#Bookmark2
Also go to www.seatguru.com
This website will also show you which seats you might want to choose.
Pitch is 5" greater and seats are 1" wider. It's a 14 hour trip. I've done SFO-TPE and it really sucks.
Look at my post on worst on worst airports. Depending on your layover, you'll need to figure out food options.
Try googling TPE terminal map.

Thanks Rasta, I have read that - it doesn't really tell me much in the way of comparing to regular economy. Like I said, seat space is not an issue for me as I'm tiny. What's most important to me is very good AVOD to pass the time, getting to the front of the boarding queue, and I guess better food/wine selection. Oh and lounge access would be a factor.
Thanks to anyone who's tried both and can give me some feedback!

We flew EVA premium economy again in December.
We loved PE because of the roomier seats, the extra lbs. allowed for luggage allowance and the smaller cabin which meant the lavatories were usually available when we needed them.
Everything else remains the same as in regular economy. There is no lounge access, you board the same time and I think you get served the same food.

I don't know Eva airlines, but I've flown PE on several others - and as mentioned there's more room in front of you (I'm very short, but it's still good not to have the seat in front of you in your lap), earlier boarding - but it's still economy, so it's the same food, and I've never seen an airline give lounge access (again, I don't know Eva, maybe they do). I still certainly think it's worth the $200 based on the length of the trip that you're taking....

Hi - just to follow up on my original post, a one-way LAX-BKK in EVA Economy is $618, and the same flight Evergreen Deluxe is $846.
For the flight I ended up booking, it's $660 IAH-BKK one-way, but nearly double to fly Evergreen Deluxe ($1250). So it really depends on the flight!
