Wally bankrupts Airtran

Just got back from Milwaukee and flew Airtran for the first time. Not bad! For just $155 round trip on a Orlando-Milwaukee flight, I received free earphones and had access to 120 music channels on XM Music as did everyone on the plane.

Coming back, they announced at the gate if anyone was flying solo. I walked up to the gate and they moved me to First or Business--whatever they call it. I hit them for three wines. Guess they learned their lesson. I even got to use the toilet in First Class. I wasn't impressed. My bathroom has marble ceiling, floors and walls.

My only complaint was that I was the first one to walk on the plane and as soon as I sat down they turned on the fasten seatbelt sign. In otherwords, I'm the only one on the plane that obeyed the sign. They did turn of the sign 20 minutes after take-off and kept it off until 12 minutes before landing. A very young flight crew. You don't see that often when flying in the United States.

Airtran is beginning service from Orlando to San Diego, which will be (I believe) the first direct flight from Florida to San Diego.

I was hoping it meant thet he HAD bankrupted them, and I wouldn't have to worry about them ruining Midwest Airlines

That was the big news in Milwaukee, about Airtran taking over Midwest Airlines and that could mean no more free chocolate chip cookies.

I don't care about the cookies. I want to keep the big seats and the superior service.

I believe YX has already announced they'll reconfigure their planes to two-class service. Like most airlines, including FL. Meaning if you want the big seat, you pay more to sit upfront.
