Virgin Atlantic reward points question

If I book a flight through a consolidator like Orbitz, do I still get rewards credit from VA for the flight?

I don't know specifically about Virgin, but for most airlines, your ability to collect miles (and the number of miles +/- 100%) depends what fair class you are booked into.

Orbitz and a "consolidator" are two different animals.

Ah, I see. OK, lets stick with Orbitz as the question. That's who I'm thinking of going with unless, of course, anyone has better advise.

It depends if your fare is eligible for miles, booking via orbits should make no difference.

If you check out the American Airlines site it records - if I read it correctly - no longer taking bookings from Orbits.
