Upgrade on Emirates using CO miles?

have you ever used miles to upgrade on Emirates? I have partner miles via Continental and was wondering if they could be used for an upgrade on Emirates.

In general, CO miles can't be used on upgrades on a partner airline. I think the exceptions are on NW if you have a very high economy fare (Y or H).

Sorry, I mean full-fare economy on a NW ticket, which are fare class Y & B. M, H & Q may qualify, but I'm not sure.

Thanks rkkwan. I called emirates and they confirmed what you said. But it does look like redeeming CO miles for a ticket NYC-Dubai is only 60,000 miles for economy, which does not seem too bad.

cruiseinred,
Where did you find 60K? The award chart for 'Travel Area: Between North America and Indian Subcontinent, Africa or the Middle East' says 90K or am I not reading it correctly?

Does CO only have one award chart that applies to all partners?

I believe 90K is correct.
