United Plus Card 50,000 Miles
United Plus Card 50,000 Miles
FYI
Launched on 4/1 many people thought this was a joke. United Plus Visa from Chase is offering 50,000 miles and waiving the annual fee for a year during April. 50,000 miles = appx $500.00. This card is 1 mile per dollar so that can ad up quickly.
The down size is after year one you have the $60.00 annual fee and Chase is high priced when it comes to using it for cash withdrawal and has a 3% exchange fee. However if you just use it to build up the miles and use Capital or Schwab for your cash withdrawals you can out on the deal. Phone number is

I'm new to the credit card/miles thing, but very interested in starting my traveling, and I do realize how much air miles help. Call me silly, but I'm not understanding how to get the 50,000 miles :/ Do I spend 500 and to get 50,000, or do I get one mile per dollar? Please help this eager traveler!

You get one mile per dollar spent. The 50,000 is a sign-up bonus. I don't know the details but it's probably something like 25,000 mile bonus with first use, and another 25,000 when you spend the 1st $1000 or so. So with just minimal use you can get enough miles for 2 free round trip domestic US flights.
