Unconnected connection! enough time?
I already secured my LHR to BKK flying with EVA in Biz class and because i wasn't sure of my proposed itinerary i didn't book the rest of my itinerary at that point.
I have now decided to go to Phnom Phen straight from BKK on Bangkok Air (who i believe do have a baggage agreement with EVA) anyway, I land (fingers crossed) at BKK 15:45. The flight to PNH is 18:00, now lets say they won't check my luggage all the way thru at LHR, is 2 hours15 mins enough time? (we should be off the plane fairly quickly as we are at the front)
There is a possibility they WILL check my luggage thru (but i won't know till i check in at LHR) so i assume in that case we will just transit thru BKK? and the time allowed is enough.
Any thoughts on the above 2 scenarios?
many thanks

My guess is that luggage agreements apply only when you have a single ticket from your departing destination to your final destination. The few times I have bought separate tickets, the initial airline would only check our bags to a destination shown on our ticket with them.

It depends on whether there is an "interlining" agreement between Eva Air and Bangkok Air. If so, the tickets do not need to be together on one PNR and they will usually, subject to whatever security measures may be in place, tag the luggage all the way through if you show them the second, separate ticket.

Yo, smeagol, you little hobbit lover you, and warm 'noon-time' greetings again from a rather warm part of the planet!
Well, scenario '3' has you flying 'up-front' with SQ (ongoing personal/professional reasons, yes), blowing off checked baggage (get with the programme: you're a tourist on non-mountaineering holiday, flying with 'muffin man'; all you require is La Perla, perhaps protection, and maybe a bit of 'vitamin v' if M is feeling his age -- 'up to you'), and finally, truly do it right with more than a few days spending 'suite' funds riverside in beloved Bangkok. (My fine firm and some fine Bangkok-based colleagues and friends thank you in advance -- support that Thai economy.)
However you travel, have fun, slowly befriend some rather thoughtful UK travellers on SQTalk.com and don't forget those ever gracious and fun loving late-night Thai masseuses. (Quite possibly, less than half your age.)
