Ignore what you heard about two types of business class on a plane. Either the agent didn't explain it properly, or you mIsheard. Anyways, both 916 and 952 are on 3-class aircraft.

952 is a 767-300. It's business class is guaranteed flat bed. 916 is a 777-200 from pre-merger UA. More than half has not gotten flat bed in business. And by Sept, pretty good chance. But not guaranteed.

Both flights on pre-merger UA.

Thanks! Appreciate your explanation. The agent didn't seem to understand how to do an upgrade on that flight and kept going back to someone for answers to my questions since I have never heard of "2 biz classes" as she was describing..

If you go on the 767 then you will get the new-style flat bed seats.

If you take the 777 you might get the new-style seats and might get the old-style bucket seats (not flat bed), but a good chance, per rk's post, of getting the new-style seats.

Thanks -- I think I'll go with the 767 to ensure I have flat beds, assuming my upgrade goes thru. Do you know what order they give out the upgrades? I'm a lowly Premier silver (bottom level).
