Tyrolean/Lufthansa connection at ORD
Arriving sfo to ORD and then I have to catch Tyrolean Airlines flight to Vienna. I presume that would be same terminal as Lufthansa. How do we get from domestic to international? Thx!

You probably want to reconfirm the operating carriers for these flights, but it sounds like United from SFO to ORD and Austrian Airlines from ORD to VIE. If so, then the first flight arrives at Terminal 1 and the second departs from Terminal 5. To get from T1 to T5, you'll need to exit T1 and follow signs for the ATS (airport transit system) train, which will take you to T5.
I'm not sure how Lufthansa fits in here (there are no Lufthansa to Austrian/Tyrolean connections at ORD)...but do note that, unlike most non-US airlines that operate flights from ORD, Lufthansa's flights to Europe depart from the domestic terminal (T1), not from the international terminal (T5).

We took Austrian Airlines (altho'in the booking it says Tyrolean) on the way to Vienna a couple of weeks ago. Like you, we were connecting through ORD. We have 01h20 in between flights. Our flight to ORD arrived 5 minutes late and because it was a small plane, most of the passengers' carry-on, including ours, were checked plane-side. So between waiting for all passengers to disembark and waiting for our carry-ons, we had about 50min left. The walk to the train going to T5 was long and then with more walk + security, we were among the last to board the plane. We thought we had enough time, but I guess Austrian boarded early, and we actually left early.

Departure times have become deceptive. Many airlines, especially on international flights, now close the cabin door well before the stated departure time and may or may not be flexible about reopening for latecomers.

Most of United's flights arrive in T1, however some do arrive in T2. To reach Austrian in T5, follow the signs that say Airport Transit System and catch the tram. It begins at T1, then heads to 2, 3, 5 and ends at economy parking.
