Yeh, I know how he felt. Some people can be very inconsiderate when traveling. I imagine they are also inconsiderat at other times also.

i'm a skinny gal, so admittedly, i get forgetful that others might like me to bring my seat back up .... i try to be polite, but..... jeez!

I'll bet that when some of the passenges saw the "attack" a few seats quickly went to the "upright and locked position". For all of the "inconsiderate recliners" how many of them are actually reclining while they are eating? They'd end up with the meal on their shirt! Isn't it natural to have the seat up because you have some back support that way? Well, at least we can know that the poor passenger who was "knifed" will make sure his seat is up during the next in-flight meal!

I admit I've only flown economy, but I've never found the recline to really be a recline. It's more:

upright = head slightly forward from body
recline = head perpendicular to body
