This Is What Happens

when you refuse to "un-recline" your seat for meal service:

Yeh, I know how he felt. Some people can be very inconsiderate when traveling. I imagine they are also inconsiderat at other times also.

alanRow Jul 17th, 2007 02:11 PM

I generally get the urge to use the pillow to smother the recliner

FainaAgain Jul 17th, 2007 02:18 PM

Are knives allowed on-board now?

alanRow Jul 17th, 2007 02:22 PM

Only in civilised countries

FainaAgain Jul 17th, 2007 02:25 PM

I thought this was a flight out of France, no? So not only civilized?

Carrybean Jul 17th, 2007 03:42 PM

If they took that man to jail in Philipsburg, he's going to be really sorry he ever got in a dispute.

I had metal utensils on my last AA flights.

If the two would have had a civil discussion over a free glass of wine everything would have turned out just fine. Right Wally?

toedtoes Jul 17th, 2007 04:07 PM

But do we know which passenger it was who used the knife? Was it the recliner? Or the tray table?

mrwunrfl Jul 17th, 2007 05:03 PM

Apparently neither passenger came from a civilized country.

lynnejoel1015 Jul 17th, 2007 07:39 PM

yikes!

i'm a skinny gal, so admittedly, i get forgetful that others might like me to bring my seat back up .... i try to be polite, but..... jeez!

freeman0819 Jul 18th, 2007 12:44 PM

I'll bet that when some of the passenges saw the "attack" a few seats quickly went to the "upright and locked position". For all of the "inconsiderate recliners" how many of them are actually reclining while they are eating? They'd end up with the meal on their shirt! Isn't it natural to have the seat up because you have some back support that way? Well, at least we can know that the poor passenger who was "knifed" will make sure his seat is up during the next in-flight meal! :(

I admit I've only flown economy, but I've never found the recline to really be a recline. It's more:

upright = head slightly forward from body
recline = head perpendicular to body
