SWA Checkin

Anyone know of a service that will check u in 4 SWA 24 hours in advance? A couple I had read about appear not to be in business anymore with boardfirst being shut down by SWA. I know I can ask a friend 2 do it 4 me, but the check in is during work hours and it might be hard for someone to leave a meeting to go check a friend in. My BB won't get service where we will be at the time we need to check in. Thanks

If your friend has your confirmation number, the process takes about 30 seconds if they do have to leave a meeting.

They don't need to actually PRINT the pass because you can do that from the kiosk at the airport.

Other than that, your friend can just do it during a meeting break so you might get a B seating instead of A.

Will you be near a payphone so you can checkin over the phone via Southwest's 1-800 number?

We're going to be on a tour in Abiqu. Looks like we may have cell phone coverage there - Verizon (BB is AT&T). I can check and see if there is a phone we could use while on the tour also. Didn't realize i could call and check in that way. That may work if I can't find someone who could do the check in online for us.
I'd hate to end up in B cause it's a 4 hour flight and no tellling where our seats might be in B.

Good to know about "B" seating. We just like to avoid middle seats.

If you get B, you'll still have plenty of aisle or window seats to choose from.

In addition to the A,B,C system each letter has a number. So you could get C1 or C29 and with C1 you'd still be ahead because they board in numerical order within each letter code.

**** You cannot check in over the phone on SWA***
Online or at the airport are your only options. I just called to confirm as that was news to me.

If your phone has internet you can definitely checkin via their webpage on your phone and print your boarding pass at the airport.

I had cell service at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu (AT&T) but it will be intermittent there and surrounding area . Also, there is a pay phone (or used to be) at Bode's Store in Abiquiu.

BeachGirl247: <i>**** You cannot check in over the phone on SWA***</i>

My friend checked in last year with SWA over the phone when she forgot to checkin online. She just gave them her confirmation number over the phone. She got an A-group pass.

I just called again to confirm as I wouldn't want to put out bad information. No check in over the phone.

Bummer - thanks for letting me know about phone check in or rather the absence of it. I dont use my phone's internet since I have a BB. I guess I should explore internet access on my phone.

I suggest that <i>if</i> you are unable to checkin on your own (or have someone help you) within 24 hours before departure that it's still worth a shot checking in over the phone. I suspect Southwest does not want to advertise that they offer such a thing as that would increase the number of customer service people they'd need to hire. But in a pinch, as my friend found out, you might be able to do it.

I'd probably go down the &quot;have a friend do it&quot; first though.
