< I lost my original ticket due to a mixed up of surnames from North America to travellers leaving South America. >
So the saga begins with you screwing up. Funny how you left that out the first time.
< If I had bought the ticket directly with the airline they could have made the ticket change or turn the names around for a fee of $ 25 dollars but not at Expedia; you lose the ticket.>
You chose to use a travel agent--which, news flash! is what Expedia is--without understanding the terms. Boo hoo.
Life is not a conspiracy to separate you from your money. Take responsibility for reading fine print and doing research before making big ticket purchases, or spend your time ranting all over the Internet after you've lost money you couldn't afford to lose. Your choice.

Hi Newbe,
If you don’t already work for Expedia you would make a good addition to their team. You’re rude, the customer is an idiot, it’s not our fault it is everyone else’s fault, let’s try to make this customers vacation experience memorable by not helping him and charging him over 4 times more for a similar ticket. In addition, make sure you hold him on the phone long enough so we can really gouge him good. I’m not going to bend over for your buddies at Expedia.
I will do my future airline business directly with the airlines and if I must it will be Expedias competitors. You can book directly with the airlines online and without a travel agent. You do have some good points; do your research and reading the fine print (I did not read the very fine print)but Expedia is in business to separate you from your money.

I was just responding to your statement: "You chose to use a travel agent". No, I have never used a travel agent and the direct airline will make any changes for a small fee either with a travel agent or online. It seemed you were putting words in my mouth and I was clarifying my point.
I'm using my right of free speech to share my experiences in dealing with Expedia.

Thank you janisj, I was going to say that the $25 sounded bogus to me, too.
EXPEDIA IS A TRAVEL AGENCY.
You're welcome.
You should also really take a moment to understand how change fees work. Doing so will save you a lot of future ranting.

'Hi Newbe,
If you don’t already work for Expedia you would make a good addition to their team. '
LOL. ALL raning guys who are told what mistakes they did resort to that argument.
Mate, you chose to save 2 bucks going witht a third party, you didn't read the conditions of sale and now you cry.
And when told so, you tell everyone is an idiot.
Well, sure mate, we are ll idiots.
But guess what : you are the one complaining to lsoe money, not us.
I'd be surprised to read how many of us buy from third party agencies for flights. Third parties agencies earn a living with fees. Small fees. SO it is perfect when it goes right. Except when it goes wrong.
Mind you 99% of the wronggoing starts with the client not being to write his own name correctly in the adequate fields or wanting to cancel a non-refnudable ticket because he cannot manage an agenda.
Then the smart guy who saved 2 bucks with a third party reliazes the service is crap.
Whilst the idiot who booked directly has access to the airline and settels it with them.
But I a m an idiot. But no, I don't work for Expedia.

Interesting snippet about Expedia and airline tickets (from this: http://crankyflier.com/2016/07/07/ex...before-buying/ )
"... the company is competing with airline websites. While Expedia doesn’t seem to really care all that much about selling airline tickets, it knows that getting someone in the door could very well result in hotel or package sales, where the big money is. So it does want to get people to buy airline tickets. "
