Price increase/decrease
Okay all you airline experts, here's a question for you. I have a quote of $827.00 for an open jaw ticket from Montana to Prague returning via Vienna, leaving March 13 and returning March 31.
Do you think this is a good fare considering I am leaving from a very small town in Montana with no airline competition.

What town are you flying out of?
I tried GTF, and found Delta (via SLC, of course) for $663 with your itinerary. But, GTF does have a few airlines serving it.
Otherwise, do you think you can get a good fare (say, <$300) to Chicago or New York? Last March, there are European fares for <$400 from many cities.

Great Falls is approx. 5 hours away. Spokane would be a better choice but I don't want to drive 4/5 hours.
Flights to Chicago or New York will run approx. over $400.00 so that's not pratical.
To be honest, I want to fly out of here so I don't have the hassle of driving. Just wanted opinions if y'all thought fares will be decreasing the first of the year.

They might or they might not - fuel surcharges, Euro exchange, all that.
Try pricing to London or Frankfurt instead and see how much the premium is to fly to those central European destinations. You could then ride an LCC the rest of the way.
What N. American gateways are you looking at?

Does Delta/SkyWest fly out of your mysterious airport? Because I can again see a fare around $650 from BTM (Butte) or $678 from Bozeman (BZN).
Anyways, right now fares from the larger cities (like Chicago) are in the mid-$500 range, which should go down about $100-150 later in winter. So, I think you should be able to do better if you wait a little. But either way, $827 is definitely not a good fare, unless you mean you're flying out of a tiny airstrip that not even Northwest, Horizon or SkyWest fly out of. Then I don't know.

Flying out of Kailspell, Mt. (FCA). Served by Northwest, Horizon(Alaska air) Sky West(Delta) and America West.
Again, Spokane is closer than Butte or Bozeman.
However I've settled on Delta out of here because they have the times and service I want. Price $$862.00 and ff miles. Flight goes from here to Salt Lake to Newark to PRG.
Thanks for all your help.
