I get all my medications (6) from a mail- in pharmacy..
Each bottle with appropriate label contains 90 day supply. The bottles are 'large" 3 inches high 2 accros and 7 inches around. i only need a 8 day supply but I alway take a week supply extra in case of travel delays. When I travel by car, I transfere pills to small bottles that I label. i have heard that the TSA frowns on "hand labeled" bottles..I guess they suspect "drug" smugling ????

You heard wrong info. TSA doesn't care diddly about pills.

I put the medication I need in small cellophane sleeves, which I hand label to save space. I've never had TSA or Customs express the least bit of interest in my medication, regardless of country (including the Middle East and Singapore).

Nope- the TSA website does suggest "original labels" but doesn't mandate them. And it says nothing about original containers. TSA agents see thousands of medications every single day and can identify most pills on sight.

You can take you pills in just about anything

No security system cares about pills. Nor, BTW, do any Customs.

The issue you've half-understood is about LIQUID MEDICINE. Most security systems - including America's TSA - have slightly more relaxed rules about liquid medicines in handbaggage than about other liquids, but give very precise rules about the conainers, labelling and sometimes documentation you need to take advantage of this.

The TSA only cares about real security risks like liquid packs of salad dressing and making you remove flip flops for X-ray.

When I traveled to Asia this spring I went to the craft store and bought little ziplock bags in the bead department. The bags were about 2in by 4 in., I then took the printout from the prescriptions that always given at the pharmacy. Ours has a perforated line that you can detach the top that has all the prescription info., I put it in the ziplock with the number of pills I need. This way is nice because it’s not bulky like a bottle and I can slip it into my purse. I did the same with OTC’s but I just used the cover of the box and put it in the ziplock.
