Premium economy on Virgin Atl.

HI has anyone had experiences on Virgin Atlantic's premium economy vs. the regular economy?
Thanks

I flew PE from LAX-LHR and it's much better than regular econ.-separate check-in, about 5 or 6 more inches on legroom, separate cabin-make sure you sit upstairs on the 747. Food is the same as econ. unless they've upgraded it since I flew-I know they have upgraded the seats a bit. Entertainment is fantastic.

We have PE seats on Virgin from JFK to JNB in Oct. I hope they are worth it.

thanks for the info. my dh wonders if it is worth the extra cost. I am looking at buy one get one on companion miles. I have to check it out to see if it works.

For us, it was definitely worth the premium but we got a very good price on our tkts at the time-it was about $300-400 more per tkt but we had our own cabin upstairs, great service with a F/A just for us and a lav for our cabin only. Check-in was quick too with a separate line from econ. and I believe we had more luggage allowance. They have since upgraded the PE cabins so it should be even better. It's still not Biz class and the seats are difficult to sleep in like any econ seats, but I would fly them again in PE-their econ. seats are very tight. For our 10hr flt, it wasn't bad, and we usually use miles for Biz.

I've flown several times in Virgin Premium economy and it is very good. Seats are 2-3-2, and have significantly more leg room. Seat back entertainment system is very good. Certainly not as roomy as a business class cabin would be, but definitely better than regular coach.

PE seating can be 2-2, 2-3-2, or 2-4-2. It depends on the aircraft and if you're on the 747, whether you sit upstairs or down. I agree it's a very good product. There's a great deal of info on www.v-flyer.com

The meal service has been upgraded, with menu choices, china and proper cutlery. I flew PE last November to St Lucia and will fly with them again to Mauritius this November.
