Premium economy

Here's a discussion of what "premium economy" means and whether it's worth it. Pretty comprehensive, I think. The article was distributed by a big news agency, Tribune Content, and I found it on AirfareWatchdog.

Thanks! I might give the Norwegian PE for a trip back to the U.S. in 2015. It flies from Geneva (with a stopover in Copenhagen) to JFK at a pretty reasonable price -- if you book in advance.

Read this article this a.m.

I'm on Air France PE from SFO to CDG in March; will report back. Actually the Delta agent recommended it over Delta's PE, which is consistent with article's points. I usually upgrade to biz trans-contiinental so it will be a first for me. And there's always Ambien, the poor man-s biz class.

If you fly United, make sure you pay for your premium economy seat. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unite...ch-e-seat.html

annw, Delta does not have PE ... they have Economy Comfort which is basically 4" more legroom, additional recline and alcohol. It's not a PE product. AF's PE is firmly a separate product (better seats* separate cabin, better food...) and shows it in the price which I've seen to be $300 to $600 over coach prices depending on things.

*I don't really like AF's PE seats but they are still better than coach.

The last few years we have always flown Qantas premium economy when our trips are more than 8 hours which for us as Aussies is most places out of the Country. worth every cent on A380
