OK Carol - As a UA 1P, and therefore *Gold customer, you are allowed access to any other *G lounge worldwide when travelling on a *A carrier, same day.
You posted: "Now I can go up the elevator at NRT to that "upper class" lounge".
Do yourself a BIG favor and eschew the RCC F lounge for a quick and refreshing walk down to Gate 51 at NRT for a visit to the ANA lounge - First class side, of course.
You will thank me for the advice after you've showered, eaten, had something to drink, and viewed the beautiful views of NRT's tarmac.
Best, Dave

Thanks for the advice Dave. Is that lounge in fairly close proximity to the Red Carpet "upper class" lounge? I don't want to wander tooooo far afield at NRT.
I probably would not take the time or effort to shower.. but then, maybe! I want to make the most of this big splurge first-class ticket I've got in my greedy little hands. lol

Carol - The RCC is near Gate 37. The ANA lounge that you WANT is near Gate 51. There are 2 ANA lounges, so don't get confused by that.
The walk is no more than 10 minutes, and it is an interesting few minutes past stores and filled with people watching. I've done it dozens of times.
You will have been on the plane for about 13 hours coming out of ORD, so I cant' for the life of me understand why you wouldn't want to hit the showers for a quick refresh???? You should have a decent layover (2+ hours) prior to your BKK leg leaving - so a shower at either the ANA or the RCC is de rigeur.
Best wishes for a great trip.
