Night Flight, Business Class, YYZ to LHR

We will be departing YYZ at 11:55pm for LHR (arriving 12 noon) via British Airways. We will be in business class. If you have flown this in the last couple months, can you tell me what the meal service was like? On my itenerary, it says, "beverage service". Will we not get a meal on board--evening or morning? Thanks

Hi ...

Not sure where YYZ is, but having flown back business class back from the states with BA, you get dinner with champagne, breakfast etc.

Not sure that you will get dinner on the plane, as you are leaving very late, but would expect breakfast & maybe brunch.

Also in the lounge beforehand you might be able to get dinner (free) - we did when coming back from Boston.

We flew BA last year to Barcelona through Heathrow through Montreal. We were in World Traveller class (economy). We received drinks shortly after take-off, a very generous and delicious supper (chicken and pasta in cream sauce), with an additional bottle of wine, and then as we approached London, we received breakfast. You'll probably get something a bit fancier in business class (World Traveller Plus or Club World?), but you'll definitely get 2 meals.

Most of BA's overnight flights from N.America have a 'Sleeper Service' for Business Class. The meal service will take place in the lounge before departure, ostensibly to ensure that everyone onboard can get some shut-eye.

Actually the web site sez that many of the East Coast flights to London on BA offer meals in the lounge. On the West Coast overnight flights, they offer you sandwiches & other finger type foods in the lounge and a meal shortly after you take off, then most of the Business Class goes to sleep. They serve breakfast in the morning before you land.

Where is YYZ? Check BA's website & see what they will be serving. It should give you the straight poop.

The following applies to YYZ-LHR flights # BA098 and BA096(SAT only):

To maximise your sleep time on board we are delighted to offer you the following:

Pre-Flight Supper replaces the main meal service on board. All special meals on North American services will be catered for through the selection on offer in Pre-Flight Supper, with the exception of kosher meals. If you have ordered a kosher meal please mention this to your host upon arrival in Pre-flight Supper.
Once onboard, The NightCap Service offers you a drink from the bar and a light snack to help you wind down after your busy day
Settle down on your fully flat bed, with large plump pillows and thick cotton-lined blankets as you drift off to sleep
Quieter and darker cabin ambience, with reduced trolley movements and announcements for a more peaceful journey
Midnight Munchies available throughout the flight in the galley area with a fully stocked array of gourmet sandwiches, fruit, cheeses, ice cream and other snacks
Breakfast in Bed now served closer to landing so you can sleep in for as long as possible
