Newark Terminal Transfer

I've called EWR and United on this one and can't get a straight answer.

Is there an airside shuttle in Newark? I'm flying United, flying into Terminal A and out of Terminal C at Newark. I'd rather not re-check through security (I'll have three small children with me and 2hrs of layover time). Called ERW, they said there's no transfer, United hung up on me a couple times.... reading on the internet it seems like there might be. Has anyone been on it recently or confirm or deny it's existance?

Thank you!

United provides this schematic map which shows both a bus and a monorail shuttle.

Your question of security checks is complicated by whether your connection is between internal US flights or involves an international flight. My guess is that security checks are probable whenever a passenger steps outside the building but it is a guess. Perhaps an e-mail to United (or social media) could be less time-consuming than the telephone?

The monorail (aka SkyTrain) at Newark is outside the secure area so taking that between Terminals A & C will entail going through TSA Security Checkpoint.

As janise says, there is a shuttle bus that links Terminals A & C that is airside and allows you to go between terminals without having to go through TSA. When you arrive in Terminal A you'll see a sign for the Shuttle. If in doubt just ask one of the airline/airport reps to point out the way. Just be sure you don't inadvertently leave the secure area before you board the shuttle.

You catch the bus near Gate A28. You'll see a sign for it. Assuming your flight gets in on time, you should have plenty of time to get to Concourse C.

Based on your previous post, it looks like you're traveling overseas. Assuming you fly into Newark on your return flight, note that you cannot use the bus to change terminals--assuming you even have to change terminals; you might not. You have to take the AirTrain. And regardless of whether you change terminals, you have to go through security again.
