Need help with Internet Booking
My sister said this is the place I could find good advice. I don't have a lot of money and need a cheap ticket from Newark to San Francisco for college interview. I don't have a credit card. Where can I buy one of these internet fares using cash or a check? Thanks.

I thought you couldn't buy someone else a ticket if your weren't traveling. I tried with Southwest and they said I would have to show my credit card when checking in. That would be impossible since I was buying the ticket for my boyfriend to fly to me. Is there somewhere else I can buy a second party ticket?

Vic,
How typical of you to give advise that in the long run is going to cost the consumer more money. She stated from the beginning she didn'thave much to begin with.

And she is still paying even more money because if you purchase for someone else from those websites, with your credit card, they will issue only PAPER TICKETS, charge you a ground delivery fee, and then you must pay to get the tickets to the party that is flying. And if your smart, you send them overnight via any method other than the US Postal service.

So I guess sometimes it is better to use a travel agent, as they DO ACCEPT CASH/CHECKS ON THE SPOT, AND THEY DO HAVE THE ABILITY TO ISSUE THE ELECTRONIC TICKET IN THIS KIND OF EVENT.

And I am much more mature than to pull a stupid stunt and more than thoughtless act such as the previous poster laughing at her and her plight. Thank you very much.

Penny,

Are you going to issue the ticket for free as a public service. I thought you were charging $75 per ticket service charge.

Now let me see. The airline might charge you $10 for a paper ticket...

Penny what's the matter with you. Can't you add.

Philadelphia is offering tickets round trip to San Francisco on U.S Air for $244 as far away as August. I purchased 2 tickets of sister and niece had the choice between paper and e tickets. I would factor in train or bus services see if it will save you significantly.

You don't have a debit card? That always worked for me if the ticket was under $500. Just don't tell them it is debit. Cheap Tickets in Manhattan also will accept cash or check but in person. Actually I would think any ticket counter for any airline would do this.
