LUGGAGE STORAGE - SANTIAGO, CHILE AIRPORT
I need some updated info. Is there luggage storage at the airport in Santiago?
I have checked the airport page but could not find any info.
I just need to store my big bag for about 4 days while I fly off to Easter Island. I cannot leave it at my hotel as I return from E Is and then fly on to LAX.
Also does anyone know the costs involved and how safe it all is?
Thanks!

As of last July, there was a luggage storage office at the airport. I had stayed the prior night at the airport Holiday Inn (directly adjacent to the terminal) after returning from Easter Island and had planned to leave my bag at the hotel for the day before flying home that night. Unfortunately, the hotel wouldn't store luggage (I think they claimed it was a security issue) and directed guests to use the office in the terminal.
You might try calling the hotel and asking them for current costs and whether they'll keep a bag for four days. In any event, I don't think the costs was unreasonable, and the office appeared quite secure.

I posted this on the Chile site also and rec'd the ff.
"There is a left luggage at SCL. It is on the arrivals level at the national arrivals area of the terminal. It will be on your left and it is called CUSTODIA. It is not cheap. A large bag is about 8-10 dollars per 24 hour period."
So sounds like we are all set. I would not want to leave it at the hotel and I return from E. Is...and have just 3 hours to change planes and re check etc to fly home to LAX. The airport will be closer, faster and easier.
