Lufthansa Connecting Flights in Frankfurt
Hi!
At Christmas, I'm flying from Toulouse to Frankfurt and Frankfurt to Dublin with Lufthansa.
I only have 50 minutes between connecting flights which I didn't think was a problem until I heard you have to go through security and everything again..
Does anyone know if this is true?
Also, I am checking on a case. Will this case go directly onto my Dublin-bound flight or will I have to collect it and check it back in?
Thank you for any help you may have

Problem is that France/Germany are Schengen countries and Ireland is not. So, you will go through passport control & security. Also, because all flights to/from Schengen countries are in a different Hall than other flights, you'll possibly have a fairly long walk.
So whether you make the connection depends on multiple, unpredictable factors: when your incoming flight arrives, which gates your arriving and departing flights use, and the length of lines at passport control and security.
(J62 is correct about your luggage.)

If I miss my connecting flight due to my incoming flight being late, will I get on the next Lufthansa flight free of charge?
Yes. However, the only connection that I see that's 50 minutes is the evening flight (arr Frankfurt 21:00, dep Frankfurt 21:50). If you miss that flight to Dublin, the next one's not until the following morning.

In FRA you should arrive at Terminal 1, Pier A. And connect to T1, Pier B. Which is either a walk through a connector tunnel, or a short train ride.
If your incoming flight from Toulouse is on time, you won't have a problem. Many people only flying FRA-DUB won't arrive landside at FRA more than 45 - 60 min prior to departure even w/ luggage (and still have to go thru security and passport control as well).
I'm not even sure if you have to go thru security in FRA, by the way. I *think* that this only applies for flights to North America and Israel and *some other flights* (according to the airport's website which is a bit cryptic on this issue). If you want to know for sure, you should e-mail the FRA airport from their website.
If your flight from Toulouse is late, you should check the "Fast Track" monitors in the passport control area. If your connecting flight to DUB appears on the Fast Track monitors, you may use the dedicated desks and by-pass lines (if there are any). If your DUB flight does not appear on the screens, you are not late
For (too) tight connections, LH will offer a transfer service free of charge. Esp. when your flight from Toulouse is late and a small jet and gets a middle of nowhere outfield parking position, you will get a minibus/guided transfer to Pier B. If in doubt, ask your FA on the Toulouse flight.
After a long day with several rotations, it is a bit unlikely that your flight to DUB will start boarding at exactly departure time minus 30 minutes (as printed on your BP). But rather at departure time (if you are lucky) - or later.
