Looking for a good web site to find discount flights

Sometimes I find myself with a set week off for vacation and I want to travel somewhere, but don't have a particular destination in mind. I'd love to find a search engine where I could input travel days and a home airport, and have it show me various fares to different cities. Even better is if it would also allow me to select a particular airline.

Does anyone know of a flight search site that allows this kind of open destination search? Thanks!

farecompare.com does this quite nicely by showing fares, although not specific dates. But it's a nice start.

cheapoair.com

kayak.com/buzz

my 2 fav sites for this

Kayak gives you an entire month

of fares.

The econos like spirit.com jetblue.com

have best deals usually but book direct.

Frquently with Spirit can fly first class for the price

of coach on the majors so might surf around a bit there.

Get their CC and 15000 FF miles get free international

flights recently FLL to South America Bogota first class 10000

FF miles..otherwise free they even paid my departure tax.

I like bestflights.com.au as you can search for all the specials available in a particular month from a particular airport in all classes.

Google "Airfare Watchdog". It's pretty neat site, with a lot of unpublished fares.

Thanks for all the suggestions. There are so many great places to visit, so it's nice to be able to look at options rather than just search out one location.
