Food For Sale On Delta?

Am taking DL this Friday, and the ATL-LAX flight has food for sale. Have not had much experience w/this . . . Took a UA flight from DEN-BWI recently, and I thought you could buy a meal online ahead of time, but you could only buy it on the plane, with cash only, and they only had a couple of choices . . .

How does it work on DL? I went on their website, and they have 2 menus. Can you buy online ahead of time? Do they take credit cards? The website claims you can . . . Do they have everything listed on the menus available, or will I end up w/ only 1 or 2 items listed on the menus available?

Thanks!

Make a phone call to DL and ask them directly. If you don't like what they have on the menu or the process or cost, prepare something at home, or stop in your local grocery or deli or Chinese restaurant and buy what you want.

Hello! I just returned from the east coast on Delta and they have a "for purchase" menu consisting of breakfast items and lunch items. The price range for breakfast was $3-6 and lunch was $8 for 2 or 3 sandwiches, a salad or a fruit plate. I bought a sandwich outbound for the $8 and bought one at one of the airport vendors on the way home. The prices are a little high for what you get, but very convenient.

Definitley buy your own or pack a lunch! I have been doing this for years. The few times that I've been to New Orleans I always bought a half a muffalatta sandwich and shared it with my husband on the plane for the trip home. Its so delicious!

They hand out the menus then later come by and ask what you want, collect $ and give you food....there is always a chance of something being sold out depending on how many people are served before you...plus if it is a long flight you will not eat right away...I would bring something...
