First time to Italy

With so many popular tours to Europe, why aren't flights or airlines just as popular? If you've done a Rock Steeves tour, will you share flight recommendations from New England? Airline? Best stop over place? Looking for budget flights if possible.

Take a look at some of the budget airlines - there are a lot of them - WOW, Norwegian, Icelandic, etc.

BTW, the reason flight prices are high is because flights to Europe are popular. Lots of people who would have no interest in a tour (Rick Steves or any other) still fly to Europe.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean . . . flights to Europe are almost invariably totally full. But in any case, kathie has given you a good starting point.

Last time I flew from New England to Europe I drove to JFK - drive time was about 1.5 hrs. Plenty of non-stop flights from there to just about any major European city, or you can connect through a big Europe hub like Frankfurt, Amsterdam, or London.

You can fly non stop to London, and Zurich and many other cities in Europefrom Boston Logan. We use Goggle flights to search.
