Eva Air Seating

Hi Everyone

We fly to BKK tonight and I had booked our tickets via travelocity. I was not given the option to choose my seats but was told to get the seating assignment at the check-in counter.

After I joined the Eva FF program, I noticed that I could select my seats (which was this morning), but its too late since our flight is in 24 hours. I also checked the seating arrangements on our flight back and there are no seats available in which we can sit together.

I'm now worried that it'll be the case even while going to BKK (via Taipei, from SFO). Just wondering what our options are at this point? Will the airline staff help us find a seat together? What have your experiences been? What do you suggest?

Thanks!

Only thing you can do is to get to the airport early. They usually have seats held for assignments at the airport. Not everybody knows that they can get seats assigned early, and not everybody cares.

Is 4 hours before our flight enough?

Check-in desks usually open 3 hours before flight time. EVA has more than one LAX-TPE flight a day, so depends on which flight you're on, they may have somebody there to check you in earlier, but in general 3 hours is the earliest.

rahulm...Your flight is almost totally sold out. But, 4 hours should be plenty. There are seat assignments held for airport check in and you should have no problems sitting together.Sooner, the better since it is first come first served.

Oh, sorry. It's SFO. Only one BR flight to TPE.

I'll get there more than 3 hours prior, to get to the front of the check-in line when it opens.

Thanks everyone, we'll get there before a little over three hours to wait in the line.

Appreciate your advice.
