Easyjet flight at Milan Malpensa dilemma

Hi Fodorites! I am attempting to book a flight out of Milan Malpensa but need a bit of furtther info. I will be taking the train from Florence directly to Malpensa airport terminal 1. I am booking a flight on Easyjet and will therefore need to take the shuttle from terminal 1 to terminal 2 and I will also need to check a hold bag once I arrive at terminal 2. I will not need to deal with customs/immigration since I will be traveling inter-schengen. My question is this: If the train arrives 2 hours before the flight departs, will I have enough time to catch a shuttle to terminal 2, check a bag, get through security, and ultimately make it to the gate in time for the departing flight or will this be cutting it too close?

Also if it helps, the flight is on a Thursday in late June at around 11:30am.

I greatly appreciate any input you have to share on this matter, it has been driving me crazy trying to get this figured out! Thanks!!!

I think so. Your train arrives MXP at 9:38a. The shuttle runs every 7 minutes according to the airport's website (easyjet says every 20) and take about 15 to get to T2. Easyjet requires check-in 40 minutes prior to departure. So, you should have a few minutes to spare. The key is to have your bags checked, going through security and getting to gate shouldn't be a problem.

You really don't have any better alternatives if you want to spend the night in Florence, as the 7am ES9502 is the first Eurostar Italia of the day to go from Florence to Milan anyways.

Thank you very much for the responses, I'm starting to feel much better about booking the flight. In regards to alternatives, I do have the option of a 4:30pm flight, but I would much rather take the 11:30am flight if it is feasible as I would otherwise essentially lose a half day in my destination (which I realize is still better than missing a flight). Thus, I do have a "play it safe" option, it's just not particularly ideal. Thank you again for the helpful comments.
