@rkk, thanks for the reminder - I know BA's ff program is horrible with regard to using miles - in this case, our ML rewards points "buy" a ticket - which they convert to $$. (In fact, the amount of points needed is based on the ultimate cost of the ticket). We still accrue miles on the flights even though we've used rewards points and as far as the airline goes, to them it looks like a normal purchased ticket just through a travel agency. Since there are certain "preferred" agencies that can book seats for free on BA, I am trying to find out if we can do that and not pay the $30/pp long haul fee.
