Domestic flight connection through IST

We will be flying from Kayseri to Izmir, connecting through IST, all on Turkish Airlines. I used a Turkish travel agency book our flights within Turkey as well as our rental car as I didn't want to bother with that myself. I looked at our itinerary and saw that our connection time in IST is only 40 minutes.

I have read how huge IST is, but I'm hoping that since these are domestic flights, we will be arriving and departing in the same terminal. Do you think 40 minutes enough to make our connecting flight?

Can't help with your question and you definitely posted on the correct forum -- BUT the Europe board does have a lot more activity so I'd maybe also ask your question over on the Europe Forum.

Hope you get some useful feedback -- I meant to include a suggestion to also ask on FlyerTalk (same company as Fodors but you need to register on their site) -- its very active and they seem to know EVERYTHING there is to know about airlines/airports.

yes, 40 minutes are more than enough... I change the flight with a layover of 35 minutes and in between I had sandwich and bought a gift as well.

Thank you! This eases a lot of my concerns - I hate rushing through the airport.
