Delta to charge for skis
My husband heard on CNN this morning that Delta is going to start charging $125 to take skis. Yikes! I can travel for two weeks in one suitcase, never try to board with more carry-ons than permitted, but this will be a challenge.

CNN is wrong. It is not true. Skis are still being counted as your one free checked luggage:

However, 2nd piece of luggage is now $50, up from $25. And other fees have gone up, like surfboards, which is now $175.

It looks like skis and snowboards continue to be exempt from the dimension limit http://www.delta.com/traveling_check...index.jsp#skis so I don't think CNN is correct.
The third bag fee is going up to $125, so I suppose that would be true if the skis were your third bag.
