Southwest will not "take over" an airport, but if they see an opening, they'll move in. For example, they saw USAir's weakness at BWI years ago, and they basically chased USAir out of there. They are doing the same at PHL and PIT.

But ATL already has AirTran. Will they want to compete headon with another LCC? I doubt it.

Having flown both Airtran and Southwest many times, I sincerely hope that Southwest not only takes Atlanta on, but delivers a KO to Airtran.

2tired,

Southwest is great if you enjoy riding in a cattle car. I swore off them years ago. I want to know where I am sitting before I get on the plane. Also, they don't have any class of seats other than cattle car. Atlanta is welcome to them.
