Dallas/Ft.Worth layover
Traveling to Buenos Aires in Feb. from Indianapolis. The connection time in Dallas is one hour and 5 minutes American Airlines. Is this enough time? The alternative is 5hours+ connection.

While you could probably make the connection in an hour and five minutes, I wouldn't want to cut things that closely for an international flight. I would not relish spending 5 hours in DFW, but that's the connection I'd choose.
There are too many variables with winter weather in Indianapolis, and I would bet this is the only flight of the day to BA, so it's not like you'd have that many alternatives if something were to go awry.

I'm from the opposing side. I always tried to take the shortest connection flights and after actually flying ~1M miles I only missed my connections couple of times. I connected in DFW, ORD, JFK, LAX, etc.etc. Winter(supposedly bad in ORD), spring, summer(bad in Florida because of afternoon storms), fall.
Never understood the notion that somehow, something will go bad and thus you should sacrifice your time, sitting at an airport bar, restaurant, gate for hours just "because" something may happen. These flights do this on a daily basis and 95% of the time it happens as advertised. And if it is a really bad weather day then 5 hours won't be enough.....
Finally, when connecting from domestic to international in US, all you have to do is walk/train from one gate to the other gate. You will be checked in Indy, your luggage will be taken care of. DFW has a train that runs between terminals ands it's within security so if you do have to change terminals, it's a non issue. The trains run in both directions every 2 minutes.

It's doable if you're not late getting out of Indy, but I can understand why you'd be a little nervous. Ultimately, you have to decide what's worse: Possibly missing the flight (and delaying what might be the start of a dream trip) or spending a few extra, boring hours at DFW.

Thanks for the replies. There is now a 3 hour and 50 minute layover available, that doesn't sound as bad as the 5+. I have to say that I'm a little gun shy about short layovers. When going to Spain in Sept. I had a 3 hour layover in Phil. with US Air but they were 2 hours late arriving, so no worries.
