CX incident at HKG 8/29

There's a lot of talk on various forums today about the 8/29 near miss, after being reported by the Telegraph newspaper of London:

news.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2004/10/14/wplane14.xml

Here's a link to a pilot-oriented forum:

Many HK newspapers are also reporting this on tomorrow's (10/15) print. CX and the HK authorities are disputing some facts in the Telegraph article. But regardless, this is a very serious matter, especially if the low ground speed reported is indeed true.

That is a frightening story, but thank God the passengers are OK.

Rkkwan, may I ask you a huge favor? I went to the pprune.org web site and tried to set up a login so I could read about the BA flight #2024 incident in Houston on August 11, 2004. I was a passenger on that plane and I have been unable to get much info from the NTSB. If you have a login to pprune, could you possibly post a link to any info about this incident? Or if you prefer, e-mail it to me directly at [email protected]. I would really appreciate your help. Thanks.

P_M: I have not registered at pprune.org, but I can get on to its forums with no problem, including doing searches. I think you should be able to do the same.

I tried to do a search, but it kept telling me to register first. I set up a login and password, but then when I tried to login it rejected it. I'll take another crack at it later.

RK, sometimes all it takes is to walk away from something and try it again later. I got through this time. Thanks for the tip.
