If this is correct, your flight is leaving BOS at 745pm. If that is the case, you are on the last flight on AA to CDG from JFK. If you want to avoid missing the flight due to the short length of time, you have two options and it is entirely at Orbitz' discretion to change it without a fee to you.
1) change to an earlier flight from Boston to JFK (downside is you now have a 4 1/2 connection)
2) change to the earlier flight with and earlier connection to CDG. Worst case, the BOS to JFK is delayed and you miss the earlier flight to CDG; you still have the later flight to CDG as a backup.

No guarantees for either scenario, and as it is still a "legal connection" they may tell you to pay for any changes. If they do, and you are still bothered by it; try flying standby on the earlier connection. You've lost nothing but your time in doing so. Good luck!

We had a similar fight with a different airline about an "illegal" international connection - they would not budge. We ended up negotiating and paying a fee (something like $25) to change to an earlier flight.

I would be most concerned about delays. Since it is American Eagle, it is likely to be a small plane, and these are more subject to weather and traffic delays. These are what usually make the Logan to JFK trip, since most NY flights out of Logan go to LaGuardia. In our case, if we had not changed our flight from Boston (with a 55 minute window), we would have missed our connection. The downside is we got to spend 4 hours at JFK, my least favorite airport in the world. Good luck

Update: I received another travel alert from Orbitz. Now flight on return is a 4 1/2 hour connection time. This was originally a non-stop. My option is to call American and try to get a refund or accept the change. At the moment, I cannot get a better fare. I am tempted to try and get a refund directly from AA and hold out for a better flight (airline) and fare. My husband feels we would probably not end up going if we do that. I have a dilema that I will have to think about for a couple of days. I have checked the schedule of AA. Nothing is better.

Just to let Andre (who has followed by ticketing misadventures)know, I have decided after speaking with AA to cancel the flight to Paris and I will get a full refund (minus Orbitz $12 service fee). This will allow me to book another flight at a more convenient time on an airline of my choosing and not have to deal with Orbitz. My dealings with them have finally ended. So now I will be looking for a good fare in April. Nothing out there yet, but I'm sure there is bound to be something.

I think in an earlier post you mentioned that the reason you booked through Orbitz was because you received a credit from Orbitz as the result of a previous booking fiasco. Are you saying that AA is refunding your ticket price in full or just the actual difference you paid after applying the credit?

I actually paid in full and then was credited. So I am getting back what I paid for the tickets. I am even with Orbitz.

So glad that you got out of that AA mess! As you say, you're best off waiting for airline schedules to firm up a bit before booking.
