Cheapest June 08 Flights to Europe
I need some advice on cheaper flights to Rome. I thought about flying into another city in Europe, then getting one of those cheaper flights to Rome or taking a train. I can non-rev with American Airlines, but I think it won't work for the busy season in June. I would like to get to Rome BY June 15th for a cruise. The cruise ends on June 27.
Does anyone have any advice on catching other airline flights once in Europe, or what cities to fly into from the U.S.? I can probably non-rev into a U.S. city easily. Which one would have the cheapest flights to Europe? If I have to take a train won't it cost about the same as flying to Rome in the first place? I am a teacher and cannot fly any other time except summer. Please help! Thanks,Patti

Zoom Airlines JFK-LGW. Several departures in first half of June for $169. Come back 6/29 or 6/30 for $269. Total with tax, $602.45.
That's probably the cheapest for US-Europe, but you need to add the cost for connections. You may want to tell us where you live. And what's the lowest fare you've found so far.

I saw some great flights last year to Dublin, Ireland, which is the home of RyanAir. Have you check flights to Dublin? Beware that there are two airports in Rome and the one that RyanAir uses is further from the city, so avoid a 6:00 a.m. flight out of this city, if at all possible, or you will have an expensive taxi fare.
Last year in Late May, British Airways and others had fare sales to London, but again, that was last year.

Also, take a look at Eurofly. They fly USA to a few cities in Italy. They have, at times, been cheaper than other airlines. Yet, for June travel they may not be any different.
Sometimes BA has some very good inter-Europe fares if you book them far enough out. If so, you can try for the cheapest flight to LGW or LHR. Good luck.

If you gave us your departure city it would help. In my area I can fly into Zurich (and sometimes Nice or Geneva)much cheaper than Italy. I can train from Zurich to Milan for as little as 19€ by buying on certain trains and getting the Smart fare discount.
