Can't select seats on Virgin Atlantic?
I have never flown Virgin Atlantic, but recently purchased tickets with the airline for Newark to Heathrow for my May 2013 honeymoon. Thier website said that seat assignment was unavailable and they didn't know when it would become available again. Does anyone know if this is standard with Virgin Atlantic, or if they are perhaps going to be reconfiguring thier planes, or any other ideas? I certainly don't want end up sitting apart from my husband as we head off on our honeymoon. Thanks.

It looks like you can book seats ahead of time, so I would keep checking.

No it's not standard, they are upgrading their website and they are trailing the new system, and to give themselves chance to test it,you cannot book seats if you have a flight booked for departure after Nov 1st. Hopefully it will be back up and running soon as I have seats I want to choose for my mid November flight.Normally you can book your seats. I will keep checking and ( if I remember) will top this thread to let you know)

Sorry I haven't had a chance to get back to this for a few days, but thanks for the responses. Hopefully, all will be okay sometime soon and I can choose the seats. At least it seems like everyone is in the same situation and the other folks on the flight won't be choosing their seats before I can.
