Booking Class Codes

I know this may sound dumb but I read on here about booking class codes and see the letters posted every so often. I know that they mean what type of ticket you bought but how do you know what each letter means. Is there an industry standard?

Is there a place to look up and see what each letter means. Like if you are flying on Delta what does a T or a L code mean?

There is no industry standard, except most airlines use "F" for full-fare First Class, "C" or "J" for full-fare international business, and "Y" for full-fare economy.

For Delta, "L", "U", and "T" are their deep discount economy class, in that order, with T in the bottom. There is probably no difference among them when it comes to refund or cancellation policy.

[Advance stuff abotu fare class: one noticeable difference for some of my family members is that DL's L, U, and T fares only earn 50% Continental Airlines EQM. Because that's important for my family, I don't usually buy those fares for them.]

On United I think the order for those three would be U, T, L. And L is rock bottom published fare. The codes are explained on a sticky in the United MP forum on flyertalk.com

L, U, T fares on Delta aren't eligible for paid upgrades at the gate.
