BA to serve Las Vegas

BA will evidently start flying from Heathrow to Las Vegas sometime this autumn. The announcement by BA is expected on Monday.

This makes, I believe, eight cities in the western US and Canada served by BA nonstop - Calgary, Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Denver and now Las Vegas.

It's good news for the city. Potentially filling a few more hotel rooms.

Vegas needs more free wine! Doesn't Virgin serve Vegas?

In the past, it wasn't possible to use AA miles to fly BA transatlantic, even though the two are partners. Does anyone know if that is still the case?

If that rule has changed, or were to change, I could see many launching their vacation to the U.K. from Vegas, after a brief stayover, of course

It's still the rule, but AA and BA have requested exemption from anti-trust rules which if granted would allow such use. The (favorable) ruling is expected sometime this year.
