15,000 flights without pilots! It takes a computer to mess up this badly. Wanna bet a programmer somewhere is walking home, never to return?

I thought that was kind of funny, but I rarely fly AA so didn't need to worry. I heard this morning on the radio that I think they have a lot of them covered now, by calling in backup pilots and paying them 150 pct of pay, so only a couple hundred now don't have pilots.

Gruezi, same here: flying Saturday Dec 16, Dallas to NYC. Fingers crossed.
Anyone know if the airline canceling flights? They have plenty of beforehand knowledge.
AJPeabody, your last sentence sounds like the famous "A village somewhere has lost its idiot."

It was for the period Dec 17-31, not the entire month.
In any case, here's the answer to my own question, above:

AA has become one of the worst airlines. They've screwed us up a number of times.

You must be unlucky. They've come through for me several times just in the last year.
