Anyone know, LAX to NAN, sustenance :)?
Last time we flew, think it was '08, we got food served in economy on at the time, Air Pacific. Does anyone know if that still applies with Fiji Air? I think we got dinner type with some free vino and then something around breakfast.
I'll pack some snacks, just wondering how many snacks.
Thanks!

I go to Fiji with Air Pacific in business. Yes you get free food and drink in economy.
That flight looks like a nightmare. Over 11 hours. You'll get 2 meals on that.
Air Pacific codeshare with Qantas on some flights so I assume they'd offer something decent.

I looked at airline equality and did see a report about your flight in terms of the food and that was ok but saw several reports of flight times being changed, some by up to about 10 hrs. Just an FYI.
We flew Air Pacific a long time ago in 2001 and it was fine. We flew Chicago to LAX and had that very long flight but we had no connection problems then.
If you are going for a vacation I hope you enjoy Fiji as much as we did. It was one of our best land vacations ever. If you are so inclined try a Fiji Bitter. Great brew.
Bula!
Larry.

MissGreen - thanks, although Air Pacific is no more. Its now Fiji Airways.
Larry - yes, third trip for vacation, (also from Chicago). Could never afford it if it wasn't for AA miles.
I just saw an article where they have replaced their box lunches with 'real' food due to complaints, so sounds like we will get fed. I'm not picky so sounds good to me.

That does look good. When we were there in 2001 in Nandi they had two nice restaurants we tried. One was a Japanese steak house and the other was Chefs. Any idea if they are still there? Also I tried kava. That's something!

Well it's a little bitter and it looks sort of nasty. I was in Nadi and someone tried to have us come to her shop. I mentioned I wanted to try kava and amazingly she had some. There were three guys in the back of the shop with the stuff in a wooden bowl which I think is traditional. I sat down on the floor and after ceremonially clapping three times I tried it. When I tried to get up I was a little light headed so it seemed a better idea to wait.

Actually it's a mild stimulant made from the roots of a certain pepper plant and it's not crazy wild or anything like that, just a mild buzz.
Did it once, no desire to do it twice. It's off the bucket list.
