Any input on recent KLM Premium Economy?

I'm having qualms about my upcoming flight in two weeks, round trip Chicago/Amsterdam, with KLM in PE. The reviews are all over the place, some good, some bad. It seems the type of plane and seat determines the result as well as other factors. Of course, any flight these days, whether domestic or international, can go either way depending on delays incurred, flight crew and lord only knows what else. Input appreciated!

KL does not have a PE product in the same way that AF and LH do (separate cabin, service level, etc.) They only have an economy comfort (or plus) section in the main coach cabin with the same coach seats with more pitch and recline and possibly a few other amenities.

Thanks for your reply. Methinks I'm in for another miserable transatlantic voyage. Courage will be needed! I'm practicing my mantra now.

I recently flew KLM PE to Asia (from Europe). The only extra worth mentioning was the leg room (but which was also our main reason to pay for it),seats were still narrow as in regular eco (which we knew) - but I think it also depends on which plane you get.
To Bangkok, we were on the most densely packed 777-300ER which exists (I think Seatguru says so), with a tiny business class and the rest all eco. 425 seats altogether! Regular eco was an ordeal on that plane (we could test one empty seat in regular eco).
Back from Asia we were on an old 747 and did not fly PE, but that plane had acceptable legroom in regular eco (acceptable by eco standards, not in the sense of 'great' legroom).

Thanks Cowboy1968. My seat on the 747 both ways is in the bulkhead row of EP. Hope I don't get bumped which I have read numerous accounts of the airline doing. I have requested wheelchair assistance, so maybe that will help keep my seat assignment up front. Oh, the agony of flying!
It is what it is at this point and I will keep calm and carry on.

The major nuisance with the 747 we had to fly with was noise. I should have thought of ear plugs..
Forgot to mention that the food was pretty good.. but I guess that's hit and miss depending on what is on the menu that day..
And the seats (both in PE and in regular eco on our return flight) were the same we had booked in advance two months earlier..

I'll take your comment about having your reserved seating work out as a good omen. We flew the 747's back and forth to Hawaii for about fifteen years back in the 70's and 80's and I don't recall noise being an issue, but then we were in first class knocking back champagne... Those were the glory days when a first class upgrade was possible for a mere 10,000 miles round trip, no astronomical fees and flying was actually fun.
