Silverjet has asked the London Stock Exchange to suspend its shares as they failed to receive money on a loan they "received" earlier this week.

It is still operating as usual, but if they shut down in the near future, don't say it's without warning.

AA used the fuel price excuse to pull out of STN. Cancelling the route as of 7/2.

Gosh, talk about triumph of hope over experience.

15 years ago, AA used STN to fly to Chicago, and pulled out faster than you could say 'overcapacity'

AA setting up at STN has to be THE lead indicator of an imminent collapse in the housing market and decline in consumer expenditure. We haven't had either since AA last withdrew from STN.

Don't know what UK's economy has to do with AA pulling out of STN. I was just merely pointing out the fact that (I believe) the only reason for AA to start that route about a year ago was to kill EOS. EOS is gone and 1 month later AA announces termination of the route.

It's official--Silverjet ceases operations and will no longer honour reservations from 30 May.

Haven't spotted anything on BA website about offers to Silverjet ticketholders yet, but stay tuned.

And it ended today for L'Avion, at least as an independent carrier. They were bought out by BA and will be folded into OpenSkies.

The press release wasn't explicit, but I would think this means the end of the all-business class configuration.
